Gary Sinse & the Lt. Dan Band

Gary Sinse & the Lt. Dan Band

Gary Sinise & The Lt Dan Band is a charitable musical group formed in 2004 by award-winning actor Gary Sinise. As the name implies, it is named after Gary’s most beloved character from Forrest Gump, Lieutenant Dan. With an eclectic mix of music fans—including members who are teachers, police officers, Coast Guard personnel, and engineers—the band’s sound introduces elements of classic rock and blues that create a nostalgic atmosphere appropriate for any occasion. Some of their greatest hits include “We Go Together” (originally performed by Oliva Newton-John and John Travolta), as well as tunes like Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama.” Over the years, The Lt Dan Band has earned much praise including an Emmy Award for Outstanding Music direction, four Military Times Edge Magazine Lift the Spirit Awards, VH1 Save The Music Medal of Honor, three consecutive Memorial Day Performances at the White House (2009-2011) and performances for U.S troops around the world.
