Matchbox Twenty

Matchbox Twenty is a rock band that has been thrilling audiences since its inception in 1995. Originally known as Matchbox, the group was founded by Rob Thomas, Kyle Cook, Paul Doucette, and Brian Yale in Florida, USA. After their debut single ‘Long Day’ met with widespread acclaim, the band renamed itself Matchbox Twenty and released its first album Yourself or Someone Like You in 1996. Since then, they’ve gone on to chart five more studio albums which have recorded huge sales and spawned a variety of hit singles such as ‘Push’, ‘Unwell’, ‘Bright Lights’, and ‘She’s So Mean’. For their outstanding achievements in music production, the band won two Billboard Music Awards for Top Rock Artist of the Year (1998 & 1999) as well as earned four Grammy nominations that include hits like ‘3AM’ (2000), ‘Bent’ (2001), ‘Bright Lights’ (2002) and ‘How Far We’ve Come’ (2008). After an 8-year hiatus from releasing new work, fans were nonetheless thrilled when the band dropped their most recent album North in 2012.
