Broken Social Scene
Broken Social Scene is a Canadian indie rock supergroup formed in 1999, composed of dozens of rotating members. Although they rarely ever perform as a full ensemble, their records have won both domestic and international acclaim. Their hits, such as “Cause=Time” and “Anthems for a Seventeen Year-Old Girl,” have propelled the band’s success and earned them their share of awards. The group has released seven studio albums, two compilation albums, two EPs and one live album. Most recently, in 2018 they released Let’s Try the After—Vol 1 to critical applause and touring worldwide to growing excitement for the genre. Despite having no major label releases since late 2007-2008, Broken Social Scene remains one of the most successful indie acts in history with multiple JUNO Awards nominations as well as praise from influential publications like Billboard Magazine and Pitchfork.
